Introduction to Backpacking-Overnighter (Community Event)
April 18 - April 19
Join us for a beginner overnight backpacking trip in partnership with Sierra Club on April 18 through 19.
Description: This is the perfect outing for those who have never backpacked before and would like to give it a try in a low-risk environment, accompanied by several experienced mentors. We’ll backpack approximately three miles into the backcountry in Tapia Canyon near San Ysidro, NM, setup a base camp and then explore the surrounding area where there are petroglyphs, slot canyons and a number of puebloen ruins.
**Latino Outdoors is able to provide a backpack, tent, sleeping bag and sleeping pad upon request.
If interested, please email Outings Leader Roman at roman@latinooutdoors.org by April 10th.
