Please read event descriptions carefully to learn who is putting on a particular event and where you can get more information about the event. Before attending anything, please check the event organizer’s website for updates and event guidelines, as we may not have the most up-to-date version of the event on our website. We include these events to encourage sharing of opportunities and to increase visibility for our members and like-minded community.

*Community Event* Nightlife of the Desert: An Evening Event at the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park
October 16 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Las Cruces, NM – Did you know the desert comes to life at night? This family-friendly event will take
place on the evening of Friday, October 16th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Asombro’s outdoor classroom,
the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park (56501 N. Jornada Road, Las Cruces).
Hands-On Activities for All Ages
Enjoy our nature park with family-friendly crafts and activities centered around native desert wildlife:
• Meet a live raptor and talk with an expert from the Raptors of New Mexico Foundation
• Make a bat mask to take home
• Enjoy viewing the moon through our telescope
• Go on a short stroll along our trails and see what evening animals you might see
• Collect free special edition trading cards for the game Endless Forms
Funding for the event was provided, in part, by a grant to Asombro from the New Mexico Department of
Wildlife’s Share with Wildlife program. While the event is free, donations to support Asombro’s
education programs and the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park are welcome and appreciated.
