Environmental Literacy Club

May 23, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Join EEANM for our second Environmental Literacy Club of 2018! We will be meeting the evening of Wednesday, May 23rd, from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm at The Range Cafe on Menaul in Albuquerque. This session will center around the theme of technology and screen time in environmental education – does it help kids, hurt kids, or something in between? We’ll be discussing:

1. The research article, “Bridging the Gap: Meeting the Needs of
Early Childhood Students by Integrating Technology and
Environmental Education” (http://naturalstart.org/sites/default/files/journal/12._final_technology_and_ee.pdf)
2. The NPR article, “Kids and Screen Time: What Does the Research Say?” (https://www.npr.org/sections/ed/2014/08/28/343735856/kids-and-screen-time-what-does-the-research-say)
3. The TED Talk, “3 fears about screen time for kids – and why they’re not true” (https://www.ted.com/talks/sara_dewitt_3_fears_about_screen_time_for_kids_and_why_they_re_not_true#t-699268)

We look forward to a great conversation!
