EEANM seeks Program Manager

EEANM is a looking for a self-starter with a passion for environmental education and nonprofit work who wants to become part of a dynamic and growing organization. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to juggle multiple projects, be adaptable to independent and team work, be capable of working a flexible schedule, and have an interest in growing with the organization. The Program Manager will work 25 hours per week, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and this position is for a one-year term, with the opportunity to extend that term if agreeable to all parties. The employee will report to the EEANM Executive Director.

Primary Responsibilities

Operations and Programs

  • Oversee statewide inventory of environmental education programs including maintenance and outreach of this new online resource to be released in 2018
  • Coordinate development, implementation and evaluation of the restoration curriculum development for the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge
  • Facilitate professional development workshops including Project Learning Tree along with supporting participants post-trainings
  • Assist with other EEANM programs such as the Environmental Literacy Summit and Environmental Education Certification
  • Assist with other projects or duties as needed 

Financial

  • Assist with bookkeeping, paying bills, financial reports, and budgeting for programs
  • Assist with grant writing and reporting, donor cultivation, soliciting memberships and donations, and other fundraising and development events for EEANM
  • Assist with ensuring adherence to EEANM’s legal obligations and reporting requirements and keep state and federal registrations current
  • Keep accurate time and expense records

Constituency

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate information for the EEANM website and Facebook account
  • Support EEANM members through membership renewal reminder e-mails, cultivating new members, writing and ensuring timely delivery of thank-you letters, and pursuing opportunities to increase membership
  • Contribute to EEANM’s quarterly e-newsletter and maintenance of EEANM’s community listserve, ecoed
  • Represent EEANM within both the environmental education community and in the greater community through meetings, partnerships, collaborations, networking and outreach
  • Participate in gaining support for environmental education in NM from individuals, partners, corporations, organizations, foundations and government entities
  • Demonstrate a commitment to working with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Ability to apply a lens of diversity, equity and inclusion to support New Mexico’s EE community

Required Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong communication, networking and facilitation skills: excellent writing, speaking and information sharing skills, with an ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
  • Experience in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Experience in WordPress, QuickBooks and Little Green Light is preferred
  • Excellent analytical, spelling, typing, grammar and organizational skill along with strong attention to detail
  • Experience in a non-profit and/or conservation organization
  • Bachelors degree or greater or equivalent work experience in relevant field including nonprofit management, education, or natural resource-related field

Compensation

  • Salary: $18/hour starting at 25 hours/week with the opportunity to increase hours with sufficient funding
  • Benefits: Paid Vacation, Sick Leave and most Federal Holidays
